Protect yourself by:
- Verifying requests for money with the person directly, especially if received via social media or Zelle.
- Asking for official identification from anyone claiming to be a government or disaster relief worker.
- Avoiding upfront payments to contractors without verifying their licenses and insurance.

- Confirm the identity of anyone requesting money independently.
- Use Zelle only with people you know and trust.
- Monitor your accounts regularly for unauthorized transactions
